Interesting question. Basically space whales are gigantic creatures that live in space. They may or may not look different from the varieties of ordinary whale. Some have more eyes or larger eyes, some have more fins or very large wings, some even have wings. Some kinda swim through space, others are like blimps flying through space. They must be able to take a beating, since they withstand the vacuum and radiation of space. Some can also reenter atmospheres and the ocean. If they do return to a planet, they generally have the ability to fly through the air. They are graceful despite their enormousness.
I imagine them to be able to defy known physics in more ways than one, defying gravity, sending their whale songs through space, making wormholes and such. They are pretty magical creatures. And they are very intelligent.
Hm I guess maybe this article should help some if this isn’t enough.
But what makes a space whale is definitely unique to the imagination of every artist.
If anyone has their own sort of space whale headcanon, I invite you to submit it.
And I’d love to read the poem once you’re finished with it. :)
Awesome! Thanks for expanding the audience too. <3 We’d love to see what you send in someday.
Also, I encourage everyone to visit the sources of the art here. The artists have more than just space whales and should be shown support too. :)
