I just sort of stumbled upon this blog, and some of the artwork is amazing. I'm a big fan of whales in general, so this is awesome.
I'm kind of confused by the concept of space whales though. I noticed that some are in the galaxy, and some are influencing the planets, and there's definitely a mix of styles. Is it influenced by the Star Trek movie about whales? Can you explain it or is it just a cool concept that really has no background?

Space whales did come before Star Trek IV (though that is where I learned of their existence). They can pretty much exist anywhere and have as much cosmic power as the artist wants. There’s nothing real specific about them other than they’re whales in space.
